I am in LOVE with your Wedding Bells AU!!! I always love it when people integrate jewelry (specifically gold) into fictional cultures and this just takes the cake--- is there any jewelry/item associated with non-spousal partnership or platonic partnership? I'd love to integrate this kind of idea into my (for-my-eyes-only, never to be published anywhere) fanfic lmao
Most jewelry in the lamb/sheep culture is non romantic. It’s based off of intent on both parties, sort of saying nonverbally what you think you are to someone, and how they in turn perceive you.
For example, if you’d like to be friends with someone, you’d give them something for their hands and arms, but if they put it on their clothes you know they only think of you as an acquaintance. Anything above the head is reserved for family, and anything on the feet is for people you hate.
If someone gave you a necklace, and you wrapped it around your wrist, it’s basically rejecting someone’s proposal, but saying “I’d still like to be friends though”.
There’s creativity with how jewlery is displayed, and most of the Lamb's follower's offerings are either somehow attached to their fleece or displayed in the temple.
When Shamura gifted Auri a set of bracelets, they put them on their horns (because Shamura is now family). Shamura saw this, put the pieces together, and realized that Narinder and the Lamb were married.
Shamura told their other siblings, but all the bishops refuse to tell Narinder, because they think its funny.
Edit: Im so glad you like this au. Please have fun with it in your writing! If I didnt fully answer your question, please let me know. I feel as though I may not have.

So.
I hit over 3000k followers at some point.
And I'd say pretty recently based on the stats I could pull and the fact that I recall being in the 2000's still.
BUT ANYwaY - I saw another artist do a poll for "which thing should I draw" after reaching a follower count milestone, so I thought that would be fun! That being said, here are your options~
#I meant to post this earlier in the day but I ended up being really busy..#polls#thank you again for all the love and kind words for my art!

What is different in Crown of conquest compared to the regular COTL universe? (Does Kallamar play any role in that AU?)
WOO I GET TO TALK ABOUT CROWN OF CONQUEST
btw go here for stuff on lamb gift culture in my au it was inspired heavily by op's wedding bells au which yall should totally take a look
ok so first i added a sixth grown, being the crown of amnesia. it's not actually in the land of the old faith, Woolbur's gonna have to go find it elsewhere but its an orange eye :3 (im also gonna write its own fic about it, bc i thought of it awhile ago) but i added another crown so i could justify the last crown having a seven pointed star lol
second, i gave all the other crowns animal forms as well. none of these are set-in-stone, but shamura's crown is a scorpion, kallamar's is either a jellyfish or a locust, heket's is probably a gecko or a salamander, and leshy's is probably a mouse or rat. leaning towards rat. the crown of amnesia is probably gonna be like a really small elephant or smth idk imma need help with that one, but the final crown, the crown of conquest, is gonna be a butterfly.
third, I want woolbur to interract with other lambs. that doesn't mean their people survived, oh no, he gets to meet lambs from outside the old faith. he joins a council of lambs, gathered to protect their kind, and quickly the rest of the council realizes that they placed a very powerful person on the council.
fourth, all of the bishops eventually join him. Narinder is last. in each one he overcomes their domain and gains their trust: for Shamura, they win a war they had no chance in. for Kallamar, they find a cure for a terrible plauge and administers it to all afflicted people in the cult. for Heket, they pull the cult through a great famine, and they even begin to thrive. for leshy, they whack him really hard on the head and runs away. in narinder's case, though, he just proposes to them and they get married lmao
theres a lot more that im going to talk about but these are the main things about it!! im really excited for this au
(also, OF COURSE Kallamar plays a role, hes my favorite guy!!!! hes important!!!!! this may be a narilamb au but i simply could not write anything without including kallamar even if its just subjecting him to minor suffering, also im still looking for more members of Kallamar's polycule so send me an ask if you want your follower oc to date him lol i'll also make a separate post abt it)

The lamb has been sending weird offerings lately
All of the offerings as of late have been golden, many found on crusades or purchased from local traders.
One of the offerings stands out; a small bell on a simple golden chain. Narinder remembers seeing it through the crowns eye for many months now. The lamb had been painstakingly crafting this very bell in almost a reverent manner. It had been melted down and reformed countless times, and the quality clearly surpasses the assortment surrounding his servants.
He will let Aym and Baal amuse themselves with the rest. The bell practically drips with devotion, so he will keep it.
It makes such a pleasant sound…..

I love your wedding bells au so much aaaa
I'm just looking forward to seeing Narinder's reaction to all the different things the lamb is gonna do thinking they're married-
I can already kinda guess the answer, but does the lamb marry any of their followers in this au? and if they were to do so, would they ask Narinder about it first to get permission?
I actually thought about this!
The lamb, who I’ve named Auri in my fic so far, doesn’t marry due to loyalty to their husband. Followers propose to them all the time, but they always turn them down.
Narinder overhears them turn someone down one day, saying “oh I have a husband”, and stands there like
Fully not knowing that HE is the husband.

They jingle when they walk
I wanted to sketch out what my lamb’s outfit looks like. Still working on how I want to draw them tho
The stuff on their head was given by the bishops, after they were indoctrinated of course. One earring is from Ratau, he tried his best crafting it by hand, but the metal is still crooked. Everything gifted by followers is fixed to their fleece, except for three from dissenters.

ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING OF A STORY BARE BONES WRITTEN HERE
What if Narinder accidentally marrried the Lamb
(I have no idea if this has been done already, but i cant stop thinking about this)
In lamb culture, gifting jewelry signifies a relationship between the gifter and the reciever. Depending on where the jewelry is worn, it signifies the type of relationship formed.
Gold given by family is to be strung on the horns, or woven into the wool on the head. These are more permanent and intricate, with larger pieces being passed down family lines. Marriages are usually sealed with a ceremonial exchange of this type of jewelry.
Close friends give things that will be worn on the hands and arms. Small tokens that can be swapped out when friendships come and go.
Tokens from those outside of friends and family are usually charms that can be affixed to staffs and clothing, or placed around the house to be admired from afar.
Those that have been slighted put the respective jewelry affixed to the end of robes and staffs, or tied to the ankles, to metaphorically and physically drag that person through the dirt.
Only lovers exchange jewelry for the neck, and each piece is symbolic. It is tradition to propose with a bell, of which the quality is reflective to the love of the giver. Higher quality bells chime the most beautifully, and have a unique sound.
When The Lamb was given their bell, it was flawless, for it had been handcrafted by a god. When the Red crown was fitted on their head, the marriage was sealed. The Lamb did not protest, for who were they to deny their god? They were executed, engaged, married, and resurrected all in the span of a few mintues; loving their sudden husband came just as quick.
The one who waits was not suprised by his vessel's unflinching devotion to him. He accepted the golden jewelry they showered him with, as offerings were expected. He humored their honeyed compliments and long winded ramblings; they fought harder and worked longer when he'd done so.
The one who waits was completely surprised, when upon their betrayal, he still felt devotion from them. The Lamb still loved their husband, even if Narinder had no idea they've been married for the past 250 years.
#does anyone know what im talking about?#when you read something and it gives you such emotion that you feel chills?#i gotta take a walk but also now i gotta write MORE#wedding bells au#cotl writing#cult of the lamb#addition

*chef's kiss* immaculate, beautiful.
Follow-up question: Is headwear restricted to bio-family and in-laws, or would something akin to found family also be included (i.e. caring for a friend like they're a sibling or finding a parental figure in a mentor)?
I am vibrating rn bc of how giddy this AU makes me lol--- coming out of inactivity to gush and fawn over all the content I'm finding
